A theme is chosen, everyone in the group gets a partner, and the crafting begins! I, the Organizer, sets up the meetings, picks a theme (ideas welcome!), partners people up, and choose the ending date for the swap.

I decided to create this weekly meetup group to fold and share our enthusiasm for the art of origami. There will be no set agenda or classes. Bring your own paper and diagrams or share anything you have created or learned. I plan on bringing books to work from and share. Beginners are welcome to participate. My goals are to fold, share, talk, eat and fold again.

Calling all scroll saw artists (or potential scroll saw artists)… This group is to create a community of scroll saw artists on the west side of Washington. While the primary focus will be centered around the use of a scroll saw; other aspects of woodworking are welcome for ways to incorporate scroll saw art into them (ie cabinets, clocks, etc etc). So whether you have never used a scroll saw and want to learn more, or if you’ve been using a scroll saw for years – all are welcome.

We are women who do arts and crafts. Some of us are professionals, some have Etsy stores or market online, and some of us just want to get together, make things and have a good time. We talk, do show and tell, and sometimes lead each other in closed workshops. Oct. 2011 marks our one year anniversary, and our group has evolved and grown into an amazing entity, an even better community than I had originally hoped for. Our mini workshops have been varied, abundant, and well attended. Our group is …

If you love to sew or want to learn and meet others who are also sewing enthusiasts this is the meet up for you. All levels of experience (or lack of experience) are welcome. If it is sewn it is fair game...everything from Drag Queen costumes to Quilting and beyond. All welcome. The inspiration for this group was a lack of sewing meet ups *IN* Seattle. Ideas for meet ups are coffee/ tea socials, sewing classes, show and tell, fabric store visits, sewing supply swaps, group sewing days, etc.
This group is for complete newbies, beginners, as well as advanced sewers and fashion designers who want to learn how to incorporate ecology-conscious fashion decisions into their lives. Seattle deserves more eco-friendly lifestyle choices: upcycled, repaired, naturally dyed and non-toxic fashion pieces will do us and the environment best. Join if you care about both fashion and the environment, this group is for people who want to make a difference in both of these fields!
