Collage is such a great medium for creating art, and is fun in group settings! Since there don't seem to be any local meetup groups devoted to collage already, it seems about time to start one. Interested people can bring their favorite bits of paper, some glue, and get together to create masterpieces and check out what other people are pasting together. Gatherings will be at the MIT Stata Center. It's a wonderful, spacious and collage friendly place!
Show me your craft and I'll show you mine! And then let's make a whole bunch together and sell them on Etsy, Ebay, wherever to support local organizations. And support ourselves by growing and sharing our skills and talents with one another.

If you say yes to any of these, let's get together regularly and support each other's creative process in community. Whaddya say? :-)

Leave your technical manuals behind - this group is for those interested in photography as an art form. Although we recognize the importance of the craft of photographer we feel that the craft is already very well catered for by a plethora of meetups and camera groups in the New England Region. This group will take a step to the side and cater to those for whom art assumes a far greater weight than craft. We won't be talking about camera settings, lenses, tripods or equipment, we will be discu …
Welcome! I would like to start this group because I thought it would be fun to get together with other yarn enthusiasts in the JP area. This group is for all adults at all levels of skill. Please do not feel intimidated if you are working on your first scarf with a few little “variations in stitches” that might have not been in your original pattern. Experienced craftspeople should also feel at home. We can offer some suggestions as well, but we cannot provide full knitting lessons. I know there …
Come knit and crochet with us on the third Thursday of every month, 10 am to 1 pm. We meet at the Dot2Dot Cafe, home of the best breakfast dish in Boston ("Boston Phoenix"). Lighter fare available too. Dot2Dot's chef/owner is a knitter, too! Dot2Dot is in Dorchester, convenient to the Red Line, easy to reac …

Everyone needs a "me" time after hours of giving, giving, giving (at work, at home, to the community). It is time to "recharge". Time to dedicate sometime to "me"! We meet once a week, in a relaxed setting and let our creative juices flow. Even if you think you are not creative, it is contagious. Glass is a beautiful and seductive material, mysterious, full of surprises and contradictions. Come and enjoy the evening over wine, chocolate and music. Disconnect from the world for a few hours and l …

Over a year ago New Craft Artists in Action team captain launched MOLTENi Net Works in Boston. Bringing together makers and players in collaborative exchange, the project aims to create functional, hand-crafted basketball nets for neglected public hoops. Dr. James Naismith created the game of basketball in Springfield, MA in 1891. He posed a recycled peach basket as the first hoop. Now nets help break a ball’s fall, give players a sense of depth for good aim, and allow refs to see that a bas …

SEMU (South End Meet UP) Creative Wizards group is a chance for professionals in the spheres of arts and crafts, performance, writing and everything in between the creative world, to talk shop and exchange stories, ideas and information. It is hard enough for professionals in other fields in this economy to ply their trade, but for those pros in the artistic realm, it is even more brutal out there. Part of the hope of this meetup is to establish a little enclave of diverse professionals who enga …
